I decided to pick back up Ayn’s ninety pound book of wonders. I am convinced that I will finish it by july. Unfortunately, I was born to be one of those readers that can’t just read something and be done with it.. I feel like if I don’t understand every underlying point the author is trying to reveal, then I won’t fully understand the book in the end. It is proving to be a difficult reading style when applied to a 1,168 page book.
I also have the annoying habit of flipping way ahead to the last page of a book and reading the last line. Some might think this ruins the satisfaction one gets from reading the final departing line. I just cant wait that long:
“He raised his hand and over the desolate earth he traced in space the sign of the dollar.”
